Kabushenga Retirement: All New Vision Permanent Staff Contracts Cancelled

Tension and uncertainty continues to mount at Vision Group publication following the “early retirement” of their long serving CEO Robert Kabushenga.

Last Friday, Kabushenga announced that he was retiring for “personal reasons’ after 14years at the helm. Kabushenga will however, take another 90days to help in the transitional process as requested by the Vision Group Board.

Hardly a week after Kabushenga’s exit, the New Vision management, has suddenly cancelled all permanent staff contracts and introduced short term contracts. According to a source who preferred anonymity, the most affected are the staff with permanent contracts.

Apparently, all the staff permanent contracts have been cancelled and given a new two year contract. This process has been ongoing since last year in May when Kabushenga forced all staff to take huge salary cuts as a drastic measure to reduce the wage bill in a bid to cope up with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Kabushenga was the most affected as he took an 80% salary cut while other Vision Group took a 50% reduction on their own allowances as part of their contribution to a wage bill reduction.
