UCU Lady Canons delivered a dominant performance to beat UPDF Lady Tomahawks 56–38 in the National Basketball League clash held at Abja Park, Nalya.
Zoe Atek set the tone early with a layup that closed the first quarter, helping the Lady Canons to a 10-point lead heading into the second period. UPDF pushed back, but UCU kept their cushion intact through halftime.
The third quarter proved decisive as the Lady Canons tightened their defense, holding the Lady Tomahawks to just eight points and stretching their lead to 19.
Though the Lady Tomahawks showed fight, UCU controlled the pace and closed out an 18-point win with ease.
Sarah Namale led the Lady Canons with 10 points—the only player on her team to score in double digits.
On the other side, UPDF’s Dorah Nakijjoba and Patricia Nakiru each dropped 12 points, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide.
