Shocking details have emerged why Dan Mulalu, a staffer in the President’s office met the Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Duties and the MK Movement chairperson.
According to inside sources in the MK camp, Mulalu has over time attempted to catch the eye of Gen Muhoozi for a one-on-one meeting until he received the green light on Wednesday (yesterday), 19th July 2023.
“He told us he wants to meet Afande to discuss issues related to the socioeconomic development of Teso like cattle compensation, commercial agriculture, youth empowerment, etc. It is the reason the General accepted to meet him,” a military source said.
As a result, Mulalu who was accompanied by a few of his stooges who included; Bosco Okiror, the MP for Usuk County and also chairperson of Teso Parliamentary Group, a one Julius who was former LCIII for Katakwi TC and Sam Eukot from Amuria TC on Wednesday headed to meet Gen Muhoozi in a meeting that took place in Entebbe.
To the General’s disappointment, other than discussing pertinent issues regarding the transformation of Teso, sources told us that Mulalu resorted to blackmail, and smear campaigns against the Minister of State for Education, Peter Ogwang who is the area MP for Ngariam County- a constituency that Mulalu is eyeing in 2026.
“He started arm-twisting afande by maligning Ogwang and the Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, accusing them of being counterproductive to Teso’s agenda. He accused them of being behind the election violence in Teso,” the source said.
Mulalu who seeks to contest in Ngariam County, told Muhoozi how Ogwang is politically inept, unpopular and does not deserve the people’s mandate.
Apparently, Gen Muhoozi’s face immediately turned green in disgust. Like his father-Gen Museveni, Muhoozi told Mulalu to ‘fuck off’ and stop making such sterile utterances that are not substantiated.
“No, no, no, please stop it. Let us stick to the agenda that brought us here. The Ogwang you are talking about, I have known him for years. He is a well-grounded cadre who is aligned and committed to our bigger agenda. It is the reason I made him the coordinator for the MK movement in Teso,” Muhoozi is quoted to have said.
Covered with shame and guilt, Mulalu tried to change the topic with the hope that he would woo the General and return his moods. However, Muhoozi remained with a cold shoulder for the rest of the conversation which lasted less than one hour.
It is said that Mulalu tried to convince the General to drop Ogwang as the coordinator for MK Movement in Teso and that he is appointed to replace him.
“He also wanted the upcoming Teso MK baraza to be taken to Katakwi rather than Soroti as earlier on agreed by the MK top executive committee,” a source added.
All this fell on the deaf ears of a battle-hardened son of a general of the National Resistance Movement.
It should be noted when Ogwang was appointed a coordinator of the MK movement, Mulalu and his stooges were filled with cheap rage started spreading malicious campaigns to the masses, calling President Museveni to fire him as a minister for supporting his son-Muhoozi. This smear campaign is being funded by the Vice President, Jessica Alupo who is bankrolling Mulalu with blurring chances that he will defeat the indefatigable and meticulous Ogwang.
It is disturbing that Mulalu in a dramatic twist now wants to work with the MK Movement yet he has been telling voters during burial funerals in Ngariam that Ogwang is going to be dropped for supporting MK.
At the end of the meeting, Mulalu and his ‘ball boys’ returned very dejected and deflated like expired condoms.
