The Minister of State for Karamoja Affairs, Agnes Nandutu has spoken out about her illness that recently shocked the public. Nandutu has since last month been bedridden following speculations that she had fallen from the bedroom.

On her maiden public appearance since her sickness, Nandutu on Thursday during plenary sitting at parliament revealed to the House how she had suffered a blood clot in the lungs which could have claimed her life if it was not for the medical proficiency of Mulago National Referral Hospital.

“I did not fall in the bath room as speculated, but I just felt dizziness and when I was taken to hospital I was diagnosed with a blood clot in my lungs. I thank God for rescuing my life, I am now very ok,” Nandutu said.

She applauded Mulago National Referral Hospital for being hands on and adequately equipped to handle such emergencies.

“I join Hon Ssemujju to confirm that Mulago Hospital is the best in this country because a blood clot in the lungs is not a simple thing to treat. They took me through the machine, diagnosed and treated it,” she said.
