IGP Ochola Pays Tribute To Police Constable Kungu Amos

The Inspector General of Police Mr.J.M.Okoth Ochola has paid tribute to PC Kungu Amos who was killed in the line of duty during the deadly suicide bomb attack at CPS Kampala.

The Police Officer was killed on the 16th October 2021 while he was working at the check point at Central Police Station.

According to the Uganda Police statement in a tribute which was delivered by Assistant Commissioner of Police Anatoli Muleterwa, he said, “We stand united with you in this soulful moment, when we remember the contribution, sacrifice, resilience, the gallant PC Kungu Amos rendered in defending his Country. We will forever remember him and hold his soul in prayers and in our hearts. May his Soul Rest In Eternal Peace,” says Ochola.

 

He extended a cash contribution to the widow and immediate family members, relatives, friends and colleagues and reassurance thats those who have given their lives so selflessly will leave a lasting legacy and will never be forgotten.

The IGP expressed his profound valor and sacrifice of the Officer, when he selflessly guarded the check point saying by doing so he saved his fellow officers and the much collateral damage that could have occured on the Police station, building, cars and other properties and people’s lives at CPS and it’s neighbourhood.

On 16th October 2021, suicide bombers carried out twin attacks near the capital’s Central Police Station check point and Parliament Avenue where three civilians were killed and 33 others were injured in the attacks.
